Gas tariff to reduce from January 1: “Gazprom” promised to assume all the risks
Robert Nazaryan, President of the Public Services Regulatory Commission, introduced the sources, on account of which gas tariff for Armenian consumers will reduce.
“There are 4 sources. One of them is reduction of gas transit price from Russia to Armenia. That transit agreement terminates on January 1, 2017. At the moment negotiations with the Georgian side on reduction of transit tariffs are ongoing. All the money, saved on account of that reduction, will be directed towards solving that issue,” Nazaryan said.
The second source of financing are the privileges, provided to the business and the socially needy. “We suppose that we should have additional volumes of consumption, proceeds of which will be a source of financing as well. The third source is that “Gazprom Armenia” regards, that they used to have rather serious financial responsibilities, greater part of which has been eliminated and on account of some optimization some financial means will be directed to solving that issue as well.”
The fourth source highlighted by Robert Nazaryan is “Gazprom” Company. He stated that “Gazprom” Company promised to assume all the risks, which may emerge in case the first three sources aren’t sufficient. According to Nazaryan, if those sources won’t be enough “Gazprom” will subsidize the rest.
