RPA is the political party, which made a decision to change and has that potential: Karen Karapetyan

“By assuming the position of the Prime Minister, I became the participant to change, assuming my burden of responsibility. On account of this all I made a decision to join the Republican Party of Armenia,” PM Karen Karapetyan stated at today’s session, stating that President of RPA and Armenia Serzh Sargsyan invited him to the position of the Prime Minister.

In his words, every government must have a political support, and our government was first of all the government of the Republican Party. According to the PM even if we don’t consider the points mentioned by him, a theoretical question will arise among some people why don’t we create or establish another party that would be your political support, “It simply would not be justified. Having the Karabakh issue and threats against our country’s security, we must avoid all possible destabilization processes and developments.”

K.Karapetyan assured that RPA can be a political base for making changes since the party’s conservative ideology is familiar to him and here there are many people acceptable for him.

He considers under this new situation many of his friends and supporters intend to join the process, however, it isn’t mandatory that Government members joined RPA, “It is everyone’s conscious and ideological decision.”

“Like other political parties RPA has not always been productive, however, in my opinion, RPA is the party, which realizing its responsibility of country’s security and development, made a decision to change and has that potential,” K.Karapetyan said.
