On the eve of celebrating its 25th anniversary of independence, Armenia – the smallest of the former Soviet republics – champions an unprecedented concept in supporting social enterprises, the Huffington Post reports. The end of Azerbaijan’s energy boom requires economic reform, which is harder to implement without allowing some politics from below. While there are signs that the country’s leaders are prepared to undertake some economic liberalization, the new changes enacted in the constitution suggest the president wants only to protect and prolong his long-standing political system.
