Azerbaijani shelling kills Armenian serviceman in Artsakh
The Azerbaijani side continued violating the ceasefire regime along Artsakh-Azerbaijan contact line starting from 11:25, March 1, using 60 and 82 mm mortars and grenade launchers firing 10 projectiles in the direction of Armenian border guards.
The press service of the Defense Ministry of the Republic of Artsakh informed, that Defense Army contractual soldier Nver Babajanyan, 1980, received fatal shrapnel injury on March 1 at about 16:50 as a result of Azerbaijani shelling in the south-eastern (Martuni) direction of the contact line.
Investigation is underway to reveal details.
“The Defense Ministry of Artsakh shares the grief of the loss and extents sympathy to the family members, relatives and friends of the killed soldier,” reads the press release of the Defense Ministry.
