France welcomes completion of talks on Armenia-EU framework agreement
Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development of France issued a statement over the completion of talks on comprehensive and extended partnership Agreement between Armenia and the European Union, the French Embassy in Armenia informed.
The statement reads: “France welcomes the completion of talks on comprehensive and extended partnership Agreement between Armenia and the European Union. President of the European Council Donald Tusk announced this on the occasion of Armenian President’s visit to Brussels on February 27- 28, 2017.
The agreement, signed several days before the Armenian President’s upcoming official visit to France on March 8-9, is in accordance with the call made by the President of France in Armenia in May, 2014 on strengthening EU-Armenia relations.
The agreement will enable to deepen EU-Armenia political dialogue on our common commitment to democracy, human rights and legal state. It will facilitate the development of cooperation in energy, transportation, environment sectors, will create new favorable conditions for trade and investments, by this ensuring the protection of the French and European geographical indications.”
