Those who violated the law in Jrarat village must be held accountable: Karen Karapetyan

Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan commented on the events that took place in Jrarat village on March 14. The PM writes on Facebook that the elections, of course, suppose competition, however, turning the competition into violence is unacceptable in any way.

“I strictly condemn any act of violence by any person. Regardless of political afliation, position or reputation, all those who violated the law in Jrarat, must be held accountable.

I am aware that the law enforcement agencies are taking the respective investigative measures for giving objective and comprehensive legal assessment to the incident. I am condent the law enforcement agencies will provide additional information on further developments within the limits permitted by law,” Karen Karapetyan writes.

Shots were red in Armavir’s Jrarat village on March 14 when an altercation between school students escalated into a brawl of adults. The Police HQ told one of the individuals involved had a rearm, which the others attempted to grab. According to preliminary reports, during the brawl a shot was red. Three people suffered injuries, one was hit by the gunshot to the leg, another was stabbed and one sustained a fractured arm. Three people have been hospitalized.“Police ofcers prevented the altercation, the rearm has been conscated. Police are taking appropriate actions and the situation is under control of the ofcers”, the police said.
