Armenia needs assistance: Charles Aznavour

World famous French-Armenian singer Charles Aznavour said he wants Armenia to be surrounded only by friendly states. Charles Aznavour will hold a concert in Moscow on April 5.

During an Evening Urgant Russian late-night talk show, talking about the fact that the concert proceeds will go to “Charles Aznavour” Fund, Urgant said the structure provides assistance to all people in need, including refugees, and Aznavour stated in response: “Armenia needs assistance. It is a small country which is surrounded by countries, some of which are friendly states, and some are enemies. I would like to see only friendly states surrounding Armenia. However, they need to also have a mentality like ours. It’s a question of mentality. It’s not a matter of land or oil. I am interested that a person remains a person.”

Charles Aznavour said he is very happy to be in Russia. “For me it is the country of my relatives. My father has always been in constant contact with the Russian community”, he said. Speaking about his prizes, the legendary musician said he always agrees with the prizes awarded to him.

“There are artists who refuse from prizes, but I always agree with everything. As in France, when I was starting my career, people were talking about me so badly, that now I accept everything they give as a revenge. This is a perfect revenge,” he said.
