Nagorno Karabakh conflict has no military solution: US Ambassador to Azerbaijan

Peaceful talks are strictly important for the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict, US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Robert Cekuta told the Azerbaijani Trend news agency.

“This conflict has no military solution. It is important that the sides gather and work on nding a peaceful settlement. This conflict is already going on too long,” the US Ambassador said. Cekuta stated that the US is actively working by the mediation of the OSCE Minsk Group to help the sides to together reach the conflict’s peaceful settlement.

“We must help the sides to move forward,” Robert Cekuta said. Speaking about new US Minsk Group Co-Chair Richard Hoagland, Cekuta highly appreciated his qualities.

“Hoagland is very energetic and strong player. I think he really will help to move forward the process”, the Ambassador said. As for the ceasere violations in the Artsakh-Azerbaijan line of contact, the US Ambassador ruled out the military settlement of the conflict.

“Violence will not help anyone. It is really important that the sides gather together aimed at nding a way for moving forward the process and reaching the peaceful settlement. This is important for all people in the region,” Robert Cekuta said.
