WIZZ AIR TAKES OFF IN ARMENIA WITH NEW AIRCRAFT AND ROUTES FROM YEREVAN
Wizz Air, Armenia’s top European airline, has announced it will add a third aircraft to its Yerevan operations in October 2026 and open two more routes, demonstrating its ongoing dedication to the country.
Since starting operations in Armenia in 2020, Wizz Air has carried over 3 million passengers, steadily expanding its network and providing affordable travel options to Armenian customers. With the addition of a third aircraft, the airline is taking another significant step in strengthening its presence and supporting the continued growth of Yerevan as a key regional hub.
“We are delighted to further expand our presence in Armenia with the allocation of a third aircraft in Yerevan,” said Ian Malin, Chief Commercial Officer at Wizz Air. “This milestone reflects our continued growth and our strong commitment to the Armenian market. Our continued expansion demonstrates our long-term dedication to strengthening connectivity, supporting local economies, and making travel more accessible than ever. We are proud to further invest in Yerevan and look forward to many more years of continued growth together”
As part of this expansion, Wizz Air will launch a new route between Yerevan and Eindhoven, operating three times weekly from 26 October 2026. The airline will also introduce a new connection between Yerevan and Brussels Charleroi, operating three times from 1 February 2027, further expanding travel opportunities between Armenia and Western Europe.
Eindhoven, known as a vibrant technology and design hub in the Netherlands, offers visitors a dynamic mix of modern architecture, innovation, and cultural experiences, including the renowned Dutch Design Week.
Brussels Charleroi serves as a convenient gateway to Belgium, where travelers can explore historic cities, world-famous cuisine, and iconic landmarks, while also enjoying easy access to Brussels and beyond. Both destinations provide excellent opportunities for leisure travel, city breaks, and business trips, further enhancing Armenia’s connectivity to Europe.
In total, Wizz Air now operates 18 routes to 10 countries from Armenia, including services from Gyumri. With this growth, the airline will provide nearly 1.35 million seats annually from Yerevan, alongside 12,000 seats from Gyumri, offering passengers more choice and flexibility than ever before.
