Armenian and Turkish musicians performed ‘Dle Yaman’ in Gyumri
Armenian and Turkish musicians held a joint concert in the National Aesthetic Center of Gyumri on May 10. Nida Ateş and Suren Asatryan firstly performed ‘Dle Yaman’ song, then various Armenian and Turkish songs of Erzurum. Nida Ateş was born and grew up in Istanbul. He studied in Izmir.
Currently he lives in Bursa. He told Armenpress he grew up in music from the early childhood thanks to his father. “We don’t have difficulty in communication. Firstly, Suren Asatryan regularly visits Turkey for already more than 20 years and is fluent in Turkish, but even if he didn’t know Turkish, we would understand each other, we speak in a language of music. This is a good method for us to communicate. Music is freedom everyone understands,” he said.
Nida Ateş and Suren Asatryan already held 5 concerts in Istanbul. The concert was organized by Anadolu Kultur and Nilüfer Municipality within the frames of the EU’s “Support to the Armenia-Turkey Normalization Process” program.
On May 11 the musicians will hold concert in the Armenian Center for Contemporary Experimental Art in Yerevan.
