Barun Sobti: I love my Armenian fans
The film “Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?” became known to the Armenian audience, when it was broadcast on Armenia TV. Both the script and actors make thousands of viewers admire the soap opera. Love, struggle, culture, traditions…Alongside with this—charming actors…and among them model and actor Barun Sobti.
Barun Sobti was born in 1984 in Dehli, in a Punjabi family. Barun did his schooling in St. Mark’s School, Varun New Delhi. Before entering into entertainment industry, he worked as an operation manager at Jindal Telecom for 7 years. Sobti first appeared as Swayam Khuranain the faith-oriented show Shraddha on Star Plus in 2009. He then appeared in a negative cameo role of Dr. Raj in the popular show Dill Mill Gayye, after which he bagged the lead role of a laid-back carefree Shravan Jaiswal in the television fiction show Baat Hamari Pakki Hai.
He made his Bollywood debut through Main Aur Mr. Riight which was released on December 12, 2014. In 2012 he was titled as the 10th “Sexiest Asian Man by UK magazine Eastern Eye”. Barun Sobti is the only TV actor in India winning 4 Star Parivaar Awards for the role of Arnav.

Mr. Sobti how did you start your career?
I came into acting career in August of 2009. I was doing a job in Delhi and one of my friends, whose name is Karan Wahi invited me to Mumbai and said to give an audition for the show. I just started to act and the producers of the show confirmed me as an actor.
When and at which age did you feel that you are an actor?
– In 2009 at the age of 25. I came to know that I am an actor.
For the film “Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?” You were honored 4 prizes. It’s interesting to know your father’s response.
“Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?” is one of my favorite shows and I have missed those days. My father was so shocked when he saw my 4 awards and said: “You’re intelligent and I’m so proud of you, my son. God bless you and go on in this way.”
Have you a favorite actor like whom you’d like to act?
I want to act like Amir Khan as he is my favorite hero.
Which writer’s work does fascinate you?
My favorite author is Gautam Hegde.
Does your wife like your artistic life?
She trusts me and that’s enough for me.
How do you imagine Armenia?
Armenia is a beautiful country, I love to be there very soon. Love you my Armenian fans….
