Charge pressed against one more person within criminal case on mass disorders in Erebuni

In the framework of the criminal case investigated in the Investigative Division of Erebuni and Nubarashen administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on disorders that took place in Erebuni administrative district on April 22 charge was pressed against one more person.

It was earlier informed that on April 22, 2018 a group of people with medical masks assaulted the protesting citizens and used violence against them with stones, blackjacks, electric shock devices.

On April 22, 2018 a criminal case was initiated in Prosecution Office of Erebuni and Nubarashen administrative districts according to the Part 2 of the Article 225 of RA Criminal Code. The criminal case was sent to the RA IC Investigative Division of Erebuni and Nubarashen administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department for conduction of preliminary investigation.

In the result of necessary investigatory and other procedural actions conducted within the criminal case a number of circumstances of the case were found out, actual data were obtained on those having committed the alleged crime.

On the base of the obtained evidence charges were pressed according to the Part 2 of the Article 225 of RA Criminal Code.

On June 13 A. Hakobyan was also involved as a defendant within the criminal case and considering that the operative-intelligence measures taken to find and bring him to the investigative body did not yield positive results search was declared against him. Detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.

During preliminary investigation of the criminal case on November 17, 2018 A. Hakobyan turned himself to the investigative body and charge was pressed against him according to the Part 2 of the Article 225 of RA Criminal Code. The investigator submitted a motion to court to reconfirm detention as a pretrial measure against him.

The court found mortgage as an optional pretrial measure against A. Hakobyan permissible.

As of today, there are 15 defendants within the criminal case. Signature not to leave was chosen as a pretrial measure against 10 of them, mortgage as an optional pretrial measure was used against 4 of them, one person is under persecution.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Measures are taken to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of circumstances of the case.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
