Armenia’s ruling party leads snap elections with 53.92%, leaving behind Kocharyan’s Armenia Alliance
Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s Civil Contract party led Sunday’s snap parliamentary elections with 687,251 votes (53.92%), leaving behind second President Robert Kocharyan’s Armenia Alliance which garnered only 21.04% (268,165 votes).
I Have the Honor, the political bloc representing the opposition Homeland party (led by Artur Vanetsyan, a former chief of the National Security Service) and the former ruling Republican Party of Armenia (led by third President Serzg Sargsyan) comes third with 5.23% (or 66,633 votes). The Prosperous Armenia party has secured 50.416 votes or 3.96%.
