“I consider Armenia may be accessed visa free regime, however, not in near future. Yerevan should prove that it’s capable of modernizing the country, creating firm ground for democracy, human rights and rule of law, approach governance system structure to the EU criteria.”
The World Economic Forum published the Global Competitiveness Report 2016-2017, reports Armenpress. Armenia is ranked 79th in the list of 138 countries. Compared to last year, Armenia improved positions by three points. Last year the country was ranked 82nd.
According to the published data, 93 countries improved their positions while 68 deteriorated. The GPI is being published in the past 11 years. This year for already 9th times Iceland is leading as the most peaceful country in the world.
Russia has been the dominant international player in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict for the last ten years. It has been the only global power publicly presenting proposals to the Armenian and Azerbaijan leaderships and reacting instantly to changes in the conflict zone.
“In this sense I attach importance to the recent visit of OSCE Secretary General to Armenia. He met with the country’s highranking leadership, a number of issues were discussed which will allow to continue the cooperation in future as well,” the French Ambassador said.

Armenia will lift visa requirements for citizens of Qatar, with the relevant bill included in the Cabinet meeting’s June 1 agenda. The decision comes as the multilateral cooperation and ties between Armenia and Qatar are progressing yearly.
