“I am sorry sir but you are a pig”

There is a very accurate comparison. At the moment when the ceiling of Sistine chapel falls on your head, you will stop admiring Michelangelo’s art. And nobody will ever blame you of ignoring or hating his art. After the elections, we the Armenian citizens, appeared in a similar situation.

And they tell us that NA MPs only have minor issues with ethics. It will be impossible to blame the head of the NA Standing committee on legal affairs Davit Harutyunyan of the lack of humor. He had organized hearings on the theme of ethics of NA MPs. As experts of ethics, European specialists are invited.

The opinion of European experts about our parliament is always belated. After the stuffing of ballots the Armenian citizens don’t care too much how the Prosperous Armenia MPs greet the Republican MPs. It means that in Armenia especially the presidential and parliamentary elections proceed in a manner when it makes no sense to expect demonstration of high ethics from the elected MPs. For example, our expectations have always been modest from CIS monitors and experts. We all know that their comments and opinions are always lies. And the European experts who perfectly know how elections are held in Armenia always visit our country after the elections to prove that the elections were a step forward. They also reiterate that the rating of the ruling party is higher than that of the opposition. But this is very simple. You can ask any child’s opinion about the rating of potato chips, coca cola or barley. It is clear that only the ignorant mother will feed her child with chips with the fact that the chip’s rating is higher.

And their conclusion is, “These are the MPs you elect. Here is your president. We, the Europeans, are saying that the elections were held in accordance with European standards. You stay here but we have to go and we promise to come back again.” And now the European MPs are trying to make our MPs ashamed. They know that our parliament still has MPs, who don’t have any idea why the spoon and form were invented. There are MPs for whom books are used to adjust the swinging table.

There are MPs, who address the journalists “babe,” “sweetie.” Others are very dangerous because in the open air there will be willing to break a journalist’s chin. Of course, it is possible to create a code of conduct, which will define in black and white that MPs are not allowed to “break journalists’ chins” and that MPs are supposed to close their mouths when yawning. It should be prohibited to press somebody else’s voting button.

When speaking about their counterparts they shouldn’t call them “that idiot,” “that buffalo.” The President of the country has a habit of addressing the journalists informally during his press conferences. As an example, we can mention the addressing of the healthcare minister, who was named Dero by the president. There is no need to write a law to know that it is totally normal to say “I think,” “In my opinion” when expressing an idea or opinion. Instead, we are making a excessive number of those, who are doing their best to appear on the proportional list of the ruling party. They have deserved to be on the party list because they are sycophant and flattering. These people have paid a very high price for that because they voluntarily refused their freedom. They cannot say what they are thinking.
