The Only and Probable Way for Recognition of Karabakh’s Independence
Nagorno Karabakh is celebrating its 25th anniversary of Independence today. It’s even excessive speaking of the importance of that day, its importance and symbolism, as it’s one of the days, if not the main one, for which lives if not the whole Armenian population, then Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh. For already 25 years. Day and night. We live for that very day, and many of them, due to whose that day became a reality, unfortunately, live in our memories only…
NK independence has not only political, but maybe, first and foremost psychological importance, as it’s a single subject acquisition, to which Armenians reach by not only becoming victims and not deepening the complex of a victim, but by winning and enjoying the joy of victory.
NK is celebrating 25th anniversary of its independence, which hasn’t been formally recognized by anyone in the world, however, without which people can’t live, who lived, live and will live in Nagorno Karabakh. NK independence, which is a political or subject formulation, in fact, is the symbol of a person’s, individual’s life, realization of freedom, alternativeness of freedom. And by that NK independence, which hasn’t been recognized by the world, is an inseparable part of the system of values of contemporary world.
Of the system of values, on which contemporary world is anchored. On the basis of that system of values lies a human being, the belief of regarding a person not as a means, but as a purpose.
People of Nagorno Karabakh are a society comprised of separate individuals, and they decided and recorded, then enshrined by referendum, that they want to live in a free and independent country, being the manager of their own lives and destinies. Accordingly, Karabakh conflict in its essence is a fight not for a territory or a border, but fight for a person and for the sake of the person, struggle for human freedom, which is the most indispensable and the most absolute from the rights.
Why doesn’t the world, living by those values, realize it and recognize the right to live in freedom of NK people? This question is political and geopolitical, and seeking for its answer on the one hand, is not proper on this day, on the other hand, maybe it should me spoken most of it, speak and ponder, and what is more correct, to think and then to speak, and attempt to find the answer or answers.
And prior to finding the answers, it’s worth also thinking and not excluding though, whether it’s possible, or maybe it’s not excluded, that the world doesn’t understand us and doesn’t recognize right of freedom and independence of NK people, as we conceded our everything, the right to make decisions to a state and condition our security with a state, which almost officially venerates Stalin and Stalinism has become a state policy cultural basis of that policy. That very Stalin, whom progressive humanity considers a global mischief, and against the remnants of whose it fights until now. It refers not to another Iosif, but that very Stalin, due to whom Nagorno Karabakh was annexed to Azerbaijan.
Maybe the world doesn’t understand and recognize NK independence, as it’s not able to understand how can one condition its own security and existence by a state, which by its current policy and leadership is the organic follower of the one, as a result of the caprice of whose, today, Armenians and elders celebrating Independence today, have been deprived of the right to live in freedom.
Adoption of the reality of NK independence by the world, in a wider sense, is a matter of time. However, in order to make it as sooner as people voting for NK independence at the 1991 referendum, it should be explained to the world in a clear language, and, what is the most important, adhering to the values and denying the mischiefs, which the world professes and denies, from which we anticipate recognition of NK independence. It’s not only political, but, first and foremost, civilization, cultural way of international recognition of NK independence, from which, unfortunately, all those, dealing with Karabakh negotiation process, are too far.
25 years ago on September 2 NK people decided to live in independent and sovereign country and already quarter a century they live loyal to that decision. People of Nagorno Karabakh, comprising a unity of individuals, for already 25 years are realizing the most absolute and unconditional right from the human rights—the right to freedom.
Congratulations on the 25th anniversary of Independence of Nagorno Karabakh!
