We don’t have the Intention to Reach Baku, We Defend our Borders: Levon Mnatsakanyan

Lt. General Levon Mnatsakanyan, Commander of the Defense Army, stated at yesterday’s R-Evolution on Armenia TV, that during the military operations of the April war from April 2 to 5, NKR Defense army suffered 59 combat losses. In his words, there was not a single case, when the Armenian side hided or didn’t provide the data, as compared to Azerbaijan. Their media outlets state on losses less than 30, however, Azerbaijani and foreign websites provide information on more than 100 combat losses,” L.Mnatsakanyan said.

Touching upon resumption of a possible war, as well as whether gatherings, subversive groups are observed on the border or not, he replied, “Comparing those activities—penetration attempts by sabotage and reconnaissance groups, use of weaponry before and after April, presently volumes are incomparably small, mainly sniper rifles, large caliber rifles and artillery are being used. Such gatherings aren’t observed. We attentively follow their moves.”

L.Mnatsakanyan reflected to the information circulating in international press on the intention to reach Baku, saying, “We don’t have the intention to reach Baku, we defend our borders, security of our people, we’ll implement our task deeply to contribute to NKR independence international recognition.”
