Karen Karapetyan’s number one issue is creation of favorable investment environment: Mikhail Zadornov

“Changes were necessary in Armenia’s economic policy. And formation of the new Government is an impetus itself, that those changes will take place. It’s also obvious from the mandate, that the country’s president gave to the PM. It’s also crucial and very positive that the new Government is being developed from people in the field of business. We do business and at least not only banking or other businesses, but people may have hopes, that people from business will bring more flexible approaches, which will better satisfy interests of investors,” Mikhail Zadornov, head of VTB 24, Chairman of the Management Board, told reporters today, replying to the question of 168.am what expectations they have from the newly developed Government in the field of economy.

In his words they frequently criticize their own, Russian Government for unfavorable business environment, however, they observe from the very first steps of the Armenian Government, that Karapetyan’s number one issue is creation of favorable business environment, and it starts with the development of the cabinet as well.

“Many of the newly appointed Ministers are known to us from cooperation with VTB Bank and we rather positively asses their appointment,” M.Zadornov said, adding that they’ll meet PM Karen Karapetyan to thoroughly familiarize with the program of the Government. He considers it’s already positive that in such a short period the PM met with businessmen, bankers, and feedback is already observed.
