Iran says US extension of sanctions violates nuclear deal
Iran’s Foreign Ministry said the extension of sanctions by the US against Iran for 10 years violates the Iranian nuclear program deal, reports Reuters.
“The extension of the sanctions by the US Congress is a violation of the nuclear program deal. We will inform it to Iran’s committee, assigned to monitor the implementation of the deal,” Iranian MFA’s spokesman Bahram Ghasemi said. Earlier TASS reported the US Senate has passed a bill to extend sanctions against Iran for 10 years.
The document authorizes the US President to impose restrictions on those who are engaged in the ballistic missiles program by Iran, supporting terrorism, as well as are accused in human rights violations.
Now the document must be signed by President Barack Obama. Earlier the administration said that Obama will not approve the initiatives that might undermine the nuclear deal signed with Iran
