Artsakh is an integral part of a civilized democratic world: Arman Tatoyan

Within the framework of the annual high-level meetings of the World’s National Human Rights Institutions in Geneva, Armenia’s Ombudsman Arman Tatoyan raised issues related to Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh) from the perspective of human rights.

The talk was in particularly about the Azerbaijani recent attempts to launch an artificial criminal prosecution against the international reporters, experts, lawmakers who visit Artsakh, as well as to eliminate the values of the civilized world, the Ombudsman’s Office told.

During the meetings Arman Tatoyan said the Azerbaijani attempts to restrict the freedom of speech related to Artsakh and the visits of international partners there will not succeed.

The vivid example of this was the visit of 104 international experts from 30 countries of the world in Artsakh within the framework of the Constitutional referendum. Armenia’s Ombudsman also talked about Azerbaijan’s so-called “black list” which must be subjected to legal discrediting by the civilized world.

Arman Tatoyan stated that the participation of Artsakh Human Rights Defender and civil society representatives in international meetings and discussions on human rights is a necessity since Artsakh is an integral part of a civilized democratic world.
