Criminal proceedings launched on Azerbaijani shooting of Armenian TV reporters
The investigative committee of Armenia launched criminal proceedings regarding the shooting at Shant TV filming crew. “On May 10, around 18:00, the filming crew of Shant TV came under gunfire while passing through the territories of the Defense Army’s military positions.
Particularly, Azerbaijani forces opened gunfire from large caliber firearms, sniper rifles and heavy machine guns, targeting the vehicle of Shant TV’s filming crew, which resulted in cameraman Davit Atayan being wounded and hospitalized.
A criminal case has been initiated in the third garrison investigative department, under article 104 paragraph 2, point 1, 6 and 13 – attempted murder on grounds of national or religious hatred. An investigation is underway,” the investigative committee said in a statement.
