Prosecutor General’s Office studies 117 violation-related reports on Yerevan City Council election

The task group of the Prosecutor General’s Office has singled out reports containing criminal elements regarding the election from all received reports, aiming at properly verifying all reports and holding every individual who has breached the law accountable for.

As result of monitoring media reports, the task group singled out 79 reports containing criminal elements. In addition to the abovementioned reports, 38 other reports which were called in to law enforcement agencies underwent verification.

Out of the total 117 reports, 53 related to obstruction of voters’ free will, including 14 reports on vote buying and obstruction of reporters, a candidate or representative. 20 reports were multiple voting-related, 11 on breaching confidentiality of voting etc.

All reports have been sent to the police, regional departments of the investigative committee and the special investigative service for verification. Law enforcement bodies are investigating all reports.
