Lavash, Republic Square fountains, supermarket produce – Singapore PM’s “jalanjalan” in Yerevan
After a busy day of official meetings and negotiations in Yerevan, Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has toured the Armenian capital Sunday night.
“Took a short #jalanjalan through the beautiful streets of Yerevan at night. Saw the fountains at Republic Square up close, got a look at a local supermarket and tasted freshly baked traditional Armenian lavash bread”, Singapore’s PM said on Instagram.
Jalan-Jalan means “stroll” in Malay.
Lee Hsien Loong visited the famed fountains of Republic Square, a local supermarket and also a bakery where the traditional Armenian lavash was being baked. He shared photos of his tour on Instagram and Twitter.
The PM also shared photos of the spices and dried fruits at the local supermarket on Mashtots Avenue.
On September 29, the Singaporean PM had meetings with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and President Armen Sarkissian.
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will also participate in the upcoming Eurasian Economic Union summit in Yerevan on October 1.
