Turkey has crossed the red line: Martin Schulz
Martin Schulz, SPD candidate for the German Chancellorship, said Turkey has crossed the red line when it compared the German government actions with the Nazi actions, Deutsche Welle reports.
“President Recep Tayyip Erdogan must know the following very well: the president of the friendly country will be received here with pleasure. However we won’t allow the Turkish political clashes to move to Germany,” he said.
He mentioned that Erdogan must obey the laws, and Chancellor Merkel must tell him this. The Turkish foreign minister’s event, which was scheduled to take place in Hamburg’s Plaza Event Center, was cancelled, and the FM was forced to deliver a speech in the residence of the Turkish consul.
German authorities cancelled the speech of Turkey’s justice minister in Gaggenau also. President Erdogan criticized this, and announced that Germany resembles the Nazi actions.
