The Defense Army of Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) has released the names of 52 more Armenian servicemen killed in the battles for the fatherland’s defense.
Former defense minister of Artsakh, former Defense Army Commander, Lieutenant-General Jalal Harutyunyan has been appointed Head of the Military Control Service of the Defense Ministry of Armenia, PR department head at the defense ministry Gevorg Altunyan told Armenpress.
The Artsakh search and rescue teams are unable to resume their operations to find casualties of the 2020 war because the Azerbaijani authorities are still banning the operations for unknown reasons.
South Australia became the second state in Australia to recognize the rights to self-determination of the Republic of Artsakh, condemning Azerbaijan and Turkey for their invasion of the country’s indigenous Armenians in a motion passed with a vote in the House of Assembly, reported the Armenian National Committee of Australia (ANC-AU).
According to the preliminary data, they are servicemen (either volunteers or reservists). Forensic examination will be conducted to identify them.
UN human rights experts called for the prompt release of prisoners of war and other captives from the recent Nagorno Karabakh conflict, and for the return of bodies to families for burial with due respect for cultural customs, the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights reports.
A medical examination is underway to identify the bodies. According to preliminary information the deceased are reservists who were drafted during the war.
Artsakh authorities say they’ve found four more bodies of the Artsakh War casualties.
A serviceman of the Artsakh Defense Army suffered a gunshot wound when Azerbaijani troops breached the ceasefire and opened gunfire at a military base of the Defense Army stationed in the central direction.
Rescuaers of Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh) continue the search operations in the battle zones, in particular in Askeran, Martuni, Hadrut, Mekhakavan (Jabrayil), Vorotan (Kubatlu) sections, official of the State Emergency Service of Artsakh Hunan Tadevosyan told Armenpress, adding that search for missing in action, who are likely hiding, will also continue in all sites.
