CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas discussed the situation in Armenia’s Syunik province during the telephone conversations with Armenia’s caretaker defense minister Vagharshak Harutyunyan and caretaker foreign minister Ara Aivazian, the CSTO reports.
The Executive Body of the Republican Party of Armenia expresses its concern about the created situation around Syunik Province, particularly the fact that Azerbaijani troops have trespassed the state border in the sector of “Sev Litch” (Black Lake) and the fact that they have advanced at a depth of 3.5 kilometers.
Azerbaijani servicemen were spotted close to the Syunik region early on Wednesday in what was believed to be “border verification activities” at a section lying in the vicinity of Armenia’s southern region.
“The incidents related to the illegal entry of Armenian servicemen into the territory of Azerbaijan at the end of November last year, the death and wounding of Azerbaijani servicemen in December are a war crime committed against Azerbaijan. As a result of the operations carried out by the Azerbaijani special services, some of the Armenian servicemen who carried out provocative and subversive operations were killed and some were arrested.
