President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan issues a decree on May 25 on relieving Major general Samvel Ghukasyan from the post of the chief of Military Police of Armenia. As 168.am was informed from the press service of the Armenian President’s Office, Colonel Artur Baghdasaryan has been appointed to the post by another presidential decree for a 3-year term.
“On May 23 and overnight May 24 the Azerbaijani side violated the ceasefire regime more than 95 times by firing over 1140 shots from various caliber small arms at the Armenian positions in the Artsakh-Azerbaijan line of contact.”
Hovsepyan served in the same position from 2008 to 2016. In 2016 he briefly served as chairman of the state revenue committee. Earlier in his career, he served as deputy minister of territorial administration (2007-2008).
