The Armenian delegation was led by foreign minister Edward Nalbandian, while the EU delegation was led by Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and VicePresident of the European Commission.
“In order to maintain peace and stability in the region Azerbaijan must recognize complete exercise of the Artsakh people’s right to self-determination: as long as Azerbaijan doesn’t recognize that right, the conflict cannot be settled,” Sharmazanov said.
The Armenian side suffered no casualties as a result of the Azerbaijani ceasefire violations. The Defense Army forces of Artsakh took countermeasures to suppress the Azerbaijani activeness and continued conducting the reliable protection of military posts.
In addition, the Azerbaijani forces fired also 60 mm mortar (4 shells) at the northern direction of the line of contact. The Artsakh Defense Army forces mainly refrained from taking countermeasures and continue condently conducting the military service.

The defense ministry of Artsakh told a 21 year old soldier of the country’s Defense Army, identified as Karen Danielyan, has been shot dead in the early morning of May 20 by Azerbaijani forces.
On May 19 and overnight May 20 the Azerbaijani forces violated the ceasefre regime more than 100 times by firing over 1750 shots from various caliber small arms at the Armenian positions in the Artsakh-Azerbaijan line of contact.
The video recording devices installed on the front line have detected that the Azerbaijani side opened fire on its own positions from 60 mm mortars by preliminary information in the SeysulanYarmja section of the contact line at about 12:15-12:19 and 13:32-13:36, as a result of which explosions took place in the mentioned area.
In addition, the Azerbaijani forces also fired 60 mm mortar (1 shell) at the eastern direction, 60 mm mortar (1 shell) and anti-tank grenade launcher (1 grenade) at the north-eastern direction of the line of contact.
