Azerbaijani forces made over 55 ceasefire breaches in the Artsakh line of contact on May 15 and overnight May 16, firing more than 1200 shots from various caliber firearms at Artsakh’s military Azerbaijani troops also fires 60mm mortars (3 shells) and anti-tank grenade launchers (9 shells) in various parts of the line of contact. In the eastern direction, Azerbaijan fired a SPIKE anti-tank guided missile, partially damaging a military hardware.
Levon Arazyan, a judge of the first instance court of the Ararat and Vayots Dzor provinces, has been caught red-handed by the national security service while accepting the bribe. A criminal case has been filed on the same day, and the judge has been detained.
The military investigative committee launched an investigation and revealed that the serviceman has been gunned down intentionally by a 20 year old serviceman of the same base. The shooter has been charged and remanded in custody.
All reports have been sent to the police, regional departments of the investigative committee and the special investigative service for verification. Law enforcement bodies are investigating all reports.
8 out of 10 reports relate to double voting attempts, 1 relates to obstructing the reporter’s professional activity and 1 relates to violating the voting secrecy. Necessary investigative measures are being taken aimed at clarifying the details of the presented reports.
President of Armenia Serzh Sarsgyan on May 15 signed a decree to conduct the 2017 summer draft and demobilization, press service of the President’s Office told.
“On May 14 and overnight May 15 the Azerbaijani side violated the ceasefire regime nearly 60 times by firing more than 1000 shots from various caliber small arms at the Armenian positions in the Artsakh-Azerbaijan line of contact. The Defense Army forces of Artsakh are in full control of the situation in the frontline and continue confidently fulfilling their military tasks.”
As the press service of the Investigative Committee of Armenia informed investigation is underway to nd out the death circumstances. Extra information will be provided on the results of the investigation.
In the northern direction of the line of contact, Azerbaijani forces also fired D-44 cannons (65 shells) and 60mm and 82mm mortars (17 shells). Currently the situation on the frontline is relatively calm.
“Karabakh conflict remains number 1 issue of the Armenian agenda and it’s very important that you have the opportunity to obtain necessary information for using it during your diplomatic activities,” the head of the Executive said.
