The 7th National Assembly of Armenia has commenced activities. The first session is chaired by MP Knyaz Hasanov, the most senior lawmaker among the 132 Members of Parliament.
Russian foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova commented on the cases of deportation of Russian citizens of Armenian origin from the Baku airport.
The Court of Appeals in Yerevan has adjourned the hearing over the prosecution’s complaint seeking the arrest of former Deputy Prime Minister Armen Gevorgyan. Gevorgyan is also a former Secretary of the Security Council.

On 7 December 2018, the Court of Appeal in Armenia ordered the arrest of the former President Robert Kocharyan. He was charged on 26 July 2018 with overthrowing the constitutional order during the 2008 post-election period.
Even though 70 years have passed since the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, it yet has not succeeded in becoming a major important established achievement of the world civilization after the Nazi rule period and the Holocaust, the Armenian Genocide and the colonization and indigenous massacres in the Americas, Africa and Asia. There is no doubt about that.
The Russian Vedomosti newspaper has named caretaker Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan Politician of the Year by the readers’ voting. Among other candidates for the category, the newspaper’s editorial board chose German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
