Putin Ratifies Amendments to Agreement on Gas and Diamonds Supply

Vladimir Putin, RF president, signed the law on ratification of protocol on amendments to Russia-Armenia cooperation agreement on natural gas, oil products and rough diamonds. The document was adopted by the State Duma on May 20, 2016. The Federation Council approved it on May 25.

Note, the protocol was signed in Moscow on December 29, 2015. The amendments presupposes that rough natural diamonds will be excluded from the field of settlement of the agreement on Armenia’s joining the EEU. The list of oil products supplied to Armenia from Russia without charging of export customs duties is also enshrined in the document.

The agreement between the Governments of Armenia and Russia was concluded on December 2, 2013.

As TASS reports, total volume of oil products supplied to Armenia reach about 250 thousand tons per year. Last year Russia supplied Armenia 1 bln 920 mln m3  natural gas, income of which comprised USD 316.8 mln.
