Official Yerevan will Reply to Moscow

Tigran Balayan, spokesman of RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told 168.am that statement by Maria Zakharova, RF MFA official representative, on the statue of Garegin Nzhdeh unveiled in Yerevan, that “Moscow is surprised by erection of the statue to Garegin Nzhdeh, one of the founders of Armenian Legion of the Wehrmacht,” briefly replied, that “We will also express our disposition in this regard.”

Note, Maria Zakharova stated at today’s briefing, that “Everyone knows our attitude towards the the Great Patriotic War.

Everyone also knows our attitude towards any forms of rebirth and glorification of all manifestations of Nazism, neo-Nazism and extremism – it was fixed in international documents. So, it’s unclear to us why such a monument was erected, as we all know of the immortal feat of the Armenian people during the Great Patriotic war”
