UNWTO Executive Council recommends Georgia’s representative for post of Secretary-General
The Executive Council of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) recommended the candidacy of Zurab Pololikashvili, Ambassador of Georgia in Spain, for the post of Secretary-General for the period of 2018-2021, the UNWTO told. The 105th session of the UNWTO Executive Council was held on May 12 in Madrid.
The candidature of Zurab Pololikashvili was presented by his country, Georgia, in accordance with the UNWTO statutes.
The recommendation of the UNWTO Executive Council will be submitted to the upcoming 22nd UNWTO General Assembly for ratification which will be held in China on September 11-16. Armenia is a member of the UNWTO since 1997.
