“The first ring indicates the release of Tropa mine-clearing line charge. The second ring shows the dust generated after its release, as well as the respective fire of the Armenian side. The third shot shows the escape of the Azerbaijani forces under the fire of the Armenian side.”
Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed the OSCE Minsk Group CoChairing countries about the Azerbaijani attack attempt launched in the Nagorno KarabakhAzerbaijan line of contact overnight February 25.
“Azerbaijan initiates a premeditated provocation in the border with Karabakh, the Defense Ministry of Nagorno Karabakh prevented the attack attempt,” he writes on Twitter.
“It can be stated that the Minsk process didn’t give any results. However the fact that in recently there had not been a large-scale conict speaks in itself”, he said.
“Overnight February 24-25 by committing another attack towards the armed forces of Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh Republic) the Azerbaijani side suffered losses and was thrown back. For several days Azerbaijan’s military-political leadership was escalating the situation in the line of contact and spreading disinformation.
Issues related to programs to be implemented in the regions throughout 2017 have been touched upon, in connection with which the President gave instructions to heads of respective bodies.
The situation in the Nagorno KarabakhAzerbaijan line of contact is under control. The Azerbaijani side continues violating the ceasefire, however there is nothing extraordinary at the moment, Davit Babayan – Spokesman of the President of Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh Republic).
“On February 25, as of 03:00 and 04:00, the Azerbaijani side conducted an attack attempt at two south-eastern (Martuni) and eastern (Akna) directions by using respective mine clearance equipment and special measures.
Particularly intensive violations were recorded at about 10:00-11:30. A total of 50 projectiles were fired 36 of which from D-44, the rest from mortars. It is noteworthy that during this period Azerbaijan targeted not only military positions but also Talish village with 120 mm mortar and 4 D-44 projectiles.
The Defense Army of Nagorno Karabakh responded to another Azerbaijani disinformation. Senor Hasratyan, spokesman of the NKR Defense Minister, responed to the Azerbaijani false information on Facebook.
