The Foreign Minister briefed on the processes taking place in Artsakh and the situation on the Line of Contact between the armed forces of Artsakh and Azerbaijan, as well as answered the questions of the participants.

Big expectations shouldn’t be made in the Nagorno Karabakh conÀict settlement associated with the regional visits of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs, David Babayan, spokesman of the President of the Republic of Artsakh informed.
“On March 12 and overnight March 13 the Azerbaijani side violated the ceasefire regime 55 times by firing more than 550 shots from various caliber small arms at the Armenian positions in Artsakh-Azerbaijan line of contact.
OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs Ambassadors Igor Popov of the Russian Federation, Stéphane Visconti of France; and Richard Hoagland of the United States of America, as well as Personal Representative of the ChairpersoninOfce Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk have arrived in Azerbaijan, APA reported.
“Today Azerbaijan is regularly breaching the ceasefire regime, therefore the Armed Forces of Armenia, the Defense Army of Artsakh are forced to adequately respond to the adversary’s actions and prevent attempts of solving the conflict militarily,” he said.
It’s obvious that Turkey doesn’t need the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, as the establishment of stable peace in the region will significantly decrease the degree of Baku’s dependence on Ankara.
The Russian MFA spokeswoman stated that the Russian side will make efforts for the settlement process of the NK conflict within the frames of the agreed approaches, taking into account Russia’s close relations with Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The FM stated that when agreements are reached, and then Azerbaijan refuses to implement them, a question arises, whether that country is ready for the peaceful settlement, whether it wants to solve the conflict through negotiations.
“As for operations by Azerbaijan, they are rather predictable. Every event, which once again proves that Artsakh is a productive and complete state, stirs aggression. It’s necessary to show on the site that the conflict isn’t resolved. And NKR Defense Army showed its readiness to such “traditional” attacks.”
