Digital technologies are the platform for development of digital economy, Member of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission – Minister Karine Minasyan said on July 13 in Yekaterinburg during a discussion on forming a common digital space in EEU territory at the “INNOPROM 2016” industrial forum.
There are indices, regarding which we’re among world leaders. For instance, we’re the first regarding mobile coverage: we have 100% coverage. We’re ranked the first in competition in the field of mobile communications. We hold the 8th place in literacy of elder people (99.8% of population is literate). Regarding broadband internet we’re in favorable position as well—24th place.
In 2014 the number of visitors from Armenia to Turkey reduced by 6.1%, thus comprising 67198. And in 2015 sharp decline was recorded—27.8% or 18676 (comprising 48522). It’s not excluded though, that this decrease is conditioned by the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide.
Prior to engagement with EEU and after it our main market were those countries. Involving in EEU is 10-15% privilege regarding price, which under high cost price and transportation doesn’t have a considerable influence. Instead, we worsened relations with the European market, although currently nobody bans increasing volumes in the European market, however, Georgia is more accepted there than Armenia. Besides that Russia presently is developing rather serious programs on the development of wine making and viticulture and in 5 years Russia will need neither Armenian grapes, nor cheap wine, nor brandy.”
It should be noted that there another eternal contrasting point in real estate statistics: real estate prices. Against the background of double digit drop of alienation deals and primary registrations, real estate prices won’t drop. Average price for 1sq. m in Kentron administrative district, upon official statistics, comprises AMD 428 thousand. This price hasn’t changed at least for 1 dram since 2013.

If people in Armenia consider quite realistic that a few thousand of tons of tomatoes may be imported from Turkey to Armenia, this speaks of zero-level trust towards the customs system.
According to the data of Eurasian Economic Commission in the period of January-April 2016 about 2.7 million liters of strong alcoholic drinks have been exported to EEU member countries with total USD 29.6 million customs value. As compared to the same index of previous year, export of this group of production grew by 2.4 times in kind and 2.3 times in value.
