The first session of the 6th convocation of Armenia’s Parliament kicked off. The session is chaired by Knyaz Hasanov, leader of the country’s Kurdish community and most senior Member of Parliament.
Armenian contractual soldier Grisha Karapetyan received fatal gunshot wounds in the military position of the N regiment on May 17, at about 10:30.
In response to Azerbaijan’s heavy ceasefire violations overnight May 16 – May 17, Artsakh’s military took suppressive actions which resulted in Azerabaijani forces suffering manpower losses, according to credible data of the Defense Army.
“What would happen, if not that agreement? War would be recorded. I understand, you may ask if there is an agreement, why we have casualties and what the international community does. If not the agreement, war would be recorded, and in that case not this much casualties, but even more. This agreement should be observed as a restrictive factor. Yes, it doesn’t solve the main issue, however, it prevents a wide-scale war.”
“Currently there are energy production capacities in Armenia, which means Armenia’s market is enlarging and already regional considerations may be examined here. These opportunities include both traditional energy production and use of new—renewable green energy sources,” the Ambassador said, stressing that purpose of the conference is introduce existent opportunities in energy sector.
Firstly, Yerevan City Council elections were marked with rather low participation. Only 345 thousand out of 840 thousand eligible citizens have gone to the polling stations. Participation level comprises 41 percent.
The MP said “Yelk” has proposal linked to Vanadzor. However, they haven’t applied to the bloc by that issue. E.Marukyan said they don’t know who they should apply as long as the parliamentary faction hasn’t been developed and it isn’t known who the head is and etc.
“I feel more like as an administrator, than a political figure. Accordingly, like any citizen, I know the staff of today’s parliament. As for my future job..The government is a collegial system, and together with my colleagues, it’s clear, I should resign, which I would do,” Levon Altunyan said.
“Fortunately no one was hurt, also we didn’t lose important military hardware. Azerbaijan’s action is not only a display of aggression against Artsakh, but also against the entire civilized world.”
“There is low trust toward voters, the institute of elections. They don’t consider elections important event to make them come out. This comes from the process of consistent discrediting of the institute in our country, from the practice of turning the political process into circus, most of them are normal people, out of numerous reasons they want to refrain from this.”
