The Ministry of Defense of Artsakh said that an additional 40 of its troops have been killed amid the ongoing Azeri attacks.
Azerbaijani forces used the “relative calm” on October 6, that occurred following the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairing countries’ foreign ministerial statement, in order to regroup and launch a new attack from the northern and southern directions of the frontline, the Artsakh Defense Ministry said.
Azerbaijani forces are amassing in large number of groups directly along the length of the Artsakh-Iranian border from the Artsakhi side (along the Araks (Araxes) River) and are factually taking shelter with the border in an attempt to advance, Armenian Defense Ministry spokesperson Artsrun Hovhannisyan said.
During the night the Azerbaijanis attempted to advance and consolidate positions in the South-Eastern section (east of Jebrayil) of the conflict zone but the Azerbaijani units were halted by accurate artillery fire by Armenian Forces.
