Relevant military and law-enforcement structures have initiated criminal cases for the crimes perpetrated by soldiers of the Azerbaijani Army. Urgent investigative actions are underway on the battlefield.
In the framework of the visit, the President of Armenia will meet with the highest leadership of Germany – President Joachim Gauck, Chancellor Angela Merkel, President of Bundestag Norbert Lammert, Minister of Foreign Affairs, OSCE Chairman-in-Office Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
“We, the representatives of the OSCE Minsk Group countries (Russian Federation, the United States of America, France, Belarus, Finland, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Turkey), as well as the incoming Austrian OSCE Chair (2017) and the Serbian OSCE Chair (2015), strongly condemn the outbreak of unprecedented violence along the Line of Contact. We extend our condolences to all affected families. We urge the sides to cease using force immediately. There is no military solution to the conflict.”
“Events happening in Artsakh today is just another challenge for the Armenian nation which this time has be imposed on us by the leadership of Azerbaijan. I have no doubt that we will overcome it with honor yet again. Blinded with Armenophobia, drunk with the scent of oil, the Azerbaijani authorities do not comprehend that power is not measured by the number of tanks. Power is the light which emanates from the new generations in Artsakh and Armenia, and today that light has united us all, made us one iron fist, which will fall on the head of the foe which threatens our security. “
It turns out, the adversary is incompetent not only on battlefield, but in propaganda front as well. “Specialists” of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan probably heard about propaganda war, however, not taking into account that at least minimum knowledge is necessary to carry out special psychological operations.
“It is unacceptable to reject international commitment to resolve the conflict politically, through the exclusively peaceful means, particularly, when the victims of this military adventurism are also innocent civilians, including children. We consider it necessary to take practical steps to immediately cease the military actions, to withdraw military troops to the positions they had before the 1st of April 2016. We strongly support to return to the negotiation process mediated by the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs”
Day by day increasing the caliber of weapons the adversary on April 4 and throughout the morning of April 5 applied “Smerch” multiple rocket system towards the southern part of the frontline.
But even with all these the Azerbaijani armed forces did not manage to change the course of events to their advantage. Moreover, the Defense Army units in all the directions of the front line not only successfully carried out positional battles, but also destroyed 5 tanks, 3 drones, different types of equipment and dozens of manpower due to professional and pertinacious operations.
“Regrettably, multiple warnings of the Armenian side that sooner or later Azerbaijan would become hostage to its own Armenophobic rhetoric and would plunge into a new military adventurism and therefore the aggressor must be contained by all possible means, fell short of desirable results. When Azerbaijan was bragging about the acquisition of arms and weaponry in profound quantities, the international community remained silent or almost silent.”
During the combat actions initiated by Azerbaijani military forces and armed groups launched such activities in regards to the civilians of Nagorno Karabakh and the soldiers that have a lot in common with the activities of international terrorist groups. Those activities are military crimes according to international humanitarian law.
