The Armenians were the victims of a major genocide 100 years ago that has even been called the “Armenian Shoah” by some Israeli scholars, including from Bar Ilan University. A great deal of their national and cultural ethos continues to focus passionately on the memory of that genocide (does that sound familiar to us Jews?).

Although it’ll be a great event, as recognition of the Armenian Genocide would sober Turkey would finally restrain the wrong way it has taken.”

I’ve always admired George Clooney. I grew up watching him. He was (and still is) my favorite movie star. Then I think, why can’t we turn those cameras to issues that can’t seem to get any media attention? Issues that are much more important than what suit I wore on the red carpet deserve attention,” Clooney said. I admired his perspective.
“For years bringing Caspian gas to European markets was merely a subject for discussions and debate. Today it is a reality with contracts in place for more than 10 billion USD and concrete construction work ongoing in Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey. We expect to start receiving this gas by 2020,” he said.
When Clooney said she was taking up Ismayilova’s case, Azerbaijani media claimed that the British lawyer was of Armenian descent. Clooney, who scoffed at the charges, is, in fact, of Lebanese extraction, but Lebanon houses a large Armenian Diaspora. So, for Baku, it all comes together.
Russia preaches peace whilst flooding the region with its most sophisticated armaments; it wants international support for its peace efforts but does not want others to be part of the future solution. It wants to work in partnership, whilst trying to exclude everybody else from the region. These Russian contradictions also reflect themselves in the way that Russia deals with Armenia and Azerbaijan.
And the cyclist said in this regard, “101st anniversary of the Armenian Genocide is commemorated 24 April, 2016. The international community still failed regarding recognition of the Genocide against Armenians by the Osman Turks,” he said, adding that by this cycling he intends to raise awareness of the issue.
