Murder in Vagharshapat; criminal case initiated

A criminal case was initiated in Vagharshapat Investigative Division of Armavir Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on murder of two residents of Vagharshapat.

On September 12 at 00:20 a call was received informing that a damaged car with traces of shots was found in Andranik district of Ejmiatsin town.

The investigatory-operative group immediately left for the site. Pursuant to initial data, on the same day at about 00:10 shots were fired from a firearm towards the car of «Toyota Land Cruiser» make. As a result, the driver of the car Levon Avetisyan, born in 1981, and passenger Karen Davtyan, born in 1973, died of the firearm injuries they had sustained.

Through inspection of the site capsules of 7.62 mm caliber were found from the neighboring area, and a gun with a note «Saiga-MK 7.67-39mm» with cartridges was found in the car.

A criminal case was initiated in the RA IC Armavir Regional Investigative Department according to the Point 1 of the Part 2 of the Article 104 and the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code, an investigatory group was created.

Urgent investigatory, operative-searching measures are taken to reveal the crime.
