Battles continue near the town of Shushi, Armenian Defense Ministry official Lt. Colonel Artsrun Hovhannisyan said.
The Artsakh Defense Ministry reported 44 additional casualties, bringing the total military death toll to 1221.
Stepanakert City was again bombarded by Azerbaijani forces overnight November 8-9, the State Service of Emergency Situations of Artsakh said.

The Russian President informed his Turkish counterpart about his telephone conversations with the Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders. The discussions were aimed at the immediate cessation of hostilities and searching ways for a political and diplomatic settlement’’, reads the statement.

Spokesperson of the president of Artsakh Vahram Poghosyan denied the Azerbaijani reports that claim that Colonel-General Seyran Ohanyan, former defense minister of Armenia, has been wounded.
The Air Defense units of the Artsakh Defense Army shot down an Azerbaijani UAV at around 06:45 in the eastern direction, Armenian defense ministry’s spokesperson Shushan Stepanyan said.
“The situation in Artsakh was quite hot at night, but it is stable and difficult. The enemy shelled the capital Stepanakert, actually, there has never been such heavy shelling during this whole war,” said Davit Babayan.
The Air Defense forces of the Artsakh Defense Army shot down an Azerbaijani UAV around 11:30 on November 6 in the south-eastern direction, Defense Ministry spokesperson Shushan Stepanyan said.
