Nikol Pashinyan has been re-appointed Prime Minister of Armenia by President Armen Sarkissian, the president’s office said.

The results of the 2018 December 9 early election granted high legitimacy to the incumbent National Assembly, President Armen Sarkissian said in remarks addressed to lawmakers of the 7th parliament during its inaugural session.
The 7th National Assembly of Armenia has commenced activities. The first session is chaired by MP Knyaz Hasanov, the most senior lawmaker among the 132 Members of Parliament.
Judge Nelly Baghdasaryan, the judge who presided over the court proceedings in former President Robert Kocharyan’s bail hearings, has recused herself following a peremptory challenge filed by the prosecutors.
On 7 December 2018, the Court of Appeal in Armenia ordered the arrest of the former President Robert Kocharyan. He was charged on 26 July 2018 with overthrowing the constitutional order during the 2008 post-election period.
“Our position is that here we need institutional solutions in order for the kind of adjustments to take place in the Collective Security Treaty Organization’s charter that would envisage mechanisms for the future in order for such debates not to happen due to non-regulation,” Pashinyan said in a live Facebook broadcast.
Acting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan arrived in Moscow on a working visit, the Armenian Embassy in Russia said on Facebook by releasing a video.
What we are facing is not only one revolution which has the name of the velvet one which is a great achievement by our nation. I would like to emphasize nation not only individuals, although individuals like the leader of the opposition Mr. Pashinyan had his own contribution of this revolution happening in a peaceful way.
