Blogger Mehman Huseynov has been sentenced to 2 years in prison. The Surakhani district court pronounced a judgment on Friday. Huseynov was arrested in the courtroom, APA reports.
Head of the EU delegation to Azerbaijan Malena Mard announced supporting the OSCE Minsk Group over the settlement process of the Nagorno Karabakh conict, the Azerbaijani APA news agency reported.
The new agreement comes after Armenia’s controversial accession to a Russian-led trade bloc, the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU). The move in 2015 that has been widely credited to strong Russian pressure.
Justice Minister Bekir Bozdag had been due to address expatriates in Gaggenau in support of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s controversial reforms.
“This decision is ridiculous, but it’s in full conformity with the nature of the state of Azerbaijan. It’s a dictatorship which functions merely according to the wins and wills of one family and this can also mean that they completely disregard any sort of international legal standard, while operating isolation of Artsakh.”
“You know our firm position which is aimed at exclusively peaceful settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict. It is a firm position, based on documents and we are committed to it,” Zakharova said, adding that official Moscow continues keeping in touch with the conicting sides.
“Throughout recent year the EU repeats that Eastern Partnership countries decide the quality, engagement, depth, deadlines of some stages of negotiations with the EU themselves. As we saw, this stage coincided with the threshold of upcoming elections in Armenia,” Susan Stewart said.
Mashalyan mentioned he also has the right to nominate his candidacy for the locum tenens position, however besides himself and Archbishop Ateshyan there is a more suitable candidate – Garegin Bekchyan – Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Germany. “In such a tense period, I view and propose Bekchyan as a perfect candidate for locum tenens,” he said.
“Each power should realize it. To some extent it’s taking place in different statements, however, when people are invited, they only want to be themselves to proceed their campaign, and they don’t perceive significance of that dialogue. They don’t want to socialize with people. This makes me sad and humiliates our political life.”
The foundation consists of 9 people, three of whom are elected by the Government, three by the Central Bank, and the other three by NGOs, who are engaged in protecting servicemen. Vigen Sargsyan said there is one vacant position in the Board, which will be filled by a representative of the opposition.
