The Opera House in Yerevan, St. Gregory Cathedral (Zvartnots) in Vagharshapat (5-7th centuries), Tufenkian Old Dilijan Complex in Dilijan (19-20th centuries) and the Monument “Mother Armenia” in Gyumriare among the list of over 200 iconic monuments, buildings, museums, bridges and other landmarks in nearly 60 countries around the world that were lit up blue on October 23-24.

The Armenian Genocide Centennial State Committee unanimously adopted a resolution on September 26 in Yerevan to form a Pan-Armenian Council. Surveillance video cameras at the Consulate recorded a car stopping next to the Consulate building around 3 am. A passenger got out of the car and threw a bottle filled with flammable liquid after lighting it. The tossed object left burn marks on a small section of the outside wall of the building and scorched the branches of a nearby tree.

Technical problems with our overseas passport and visa systems have resulted in the unfortunate cancellation of some U.S. visa interview appointments and the delay of many potential visa appointments. However, the U.S. Embassy in Yerevan remains committed to facilitating legitimate travel. We have therefore decided to open on Saturday, June 27, 2015 on an exceptional basis to conduct visa interviews.
