By 20:00 all the 474 polling stations are closed and the counting of votes has started. Starting from 24:00 the Central Electoral Commission of Armenia will start to promulgate the preliminary results of the voting according to the polling stations.
Voter turnout of Yerevan City Council elections was 34.52% by 17:00, CEC Secretary Armen Smbatyan told the reporters at the Central Electoral Commission.
Tigran Mukuchyan, chairman of the central electoral commission of Armenia, cast his vote in the Yerevan City Council election in the capital’s 2/4 polling station.
As of 14:00, 25,04% of eligible voters cast their ballots in the Yerevan City Council election. Silva Markosyan, member of the Central Electoral Commission, told reporters 210,903 people from the total of 842,147 people have voted.
Another baby of the quintuplets born May 3 in Yerevan has died, the healthcare ministry told. “The baby boy was in a critical condition,” a ministry spokesperson said.
“I really like that our city is getting prettier every day, and I am convinced it will become even more beautiful. We have an exclusively beautiful city, which has very deep historic roots, unique character and environment.”
Deputy chairman of the CEC Laura Galstyan told a brifieng 94 thousand 256 voters out of the total eligible 842 thousand 147 citizens cast their ballots as of 11:00.
Asked “What will become Yerevan, if Taron Margaryan gets elected?” the President responded by saying: “It will become better.”
The Ombudsman’s Office released a statement on Yerevan City Council election day. In the statement, the Ombudsman’s Office said their staff will work on a round-the- clock shift on May 14, during the Yerevan City Council election.
