“The point, that the Government attempts to bring much money to the country, is correct. However, there is the reverse of the coin as well.”
Armenia will receive 9.1 billion AMD official grant from the European Union in 2017, First Deputy Finance Minister Atom Janjughazyan said during the parliamentary debates of the 2017 state budget.
Gagik Melkonyan, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments, informed that trade regime was provided to Armenia in an updated form, for 10 years since 2014. According to him, the EU regularly touches upon its assessment and implementation of the country’s liabilities, internal decisions are being made based on them to move forward its natural development or implementation of changes. According to the Deputy Minister Armenia has submitted a report twice, and the last one was on September 15.
In short, “Gazprom Armenia” and its owner go against their interests to do something good for the Armenia population. It’s a bit difficult to believe in this. Especially, when “Gazprom Armenia” is a company functioning with a loss: 2015 was terminated with AMD 10.7 billion loss.
“I need groundbreaking projects. What should we change to develop your sector, business, or market apart from specific projects? What stands on your way? I need to understand the policy of your sector,” Karen Karapetyan said, adding that the Government sets an investment fund aimed at fostering business in general, including the ICT sector.
Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan on November 2 received President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Belgium Christine Defraigne who is in an official visit to Armenia, press service of the Government informed. The State Revenue Committee of Armenia has released the list of 1000 major taxpayers of Armenia according to the results of JanuarySeptember, 2016, as well as the volume of the taxes paid by them. “Gazprom Armenia” continues to top the list of major taxpayers of Armenia which paid taxes amounting to 28 billion 830 million 848 thousand AMD during the mentioned period.
“Expectations are natural to lay ground for supplying gas to transit Georgia to Armenia and through Armenia, regarding both gas against electricity and direct gas supply to Armenia. If that program succeeds, it’ll mean acquisition of historical importance for our region, which will split Armenia’s energy-transportation blockade.”
