“Donald Trump’s election as US president after a campaign fomenting hatred and intolerance, and the rising influence of political parties in Europe that reject universal rights, have put the postwar human rights system at risk,” wrote Human Rights Watch Executive Director Kenneth Roth.
“At the same time we find it unacceptable to link Bordyuzha’s resignation with the December 29 incident’s comment, because his responsibilities as Secretary General expired on December 31, 2016 – in accordance with the decision of heads of states, which was adopted in the December 2015 Moscow sitting of the Collective Security Council,” the document reads.
“As we observed later, this “good tradition” continued, and all criminals and maniacs are made heroes in Azerbaijan. And now Azerbaijan is more active these days, so that “black January” and attempts to proceed with its anti-Armenian policy was continuous,” he said.
“This means that the Azerbaijani side is tended to some concession on the negotiation table, as its alternative is war, to which this side isn’t ready. I consider, under these conditions the maximal concession will be continuation of negotiations on a high level.”
“Rapprochement with Iran will provide us security, all those intending to concede territories, will be buried. Length of the border of the two statehoods of the Armenian side is of paramount importance to Iran. It’ll also provide all chances for economic and cultural progress. Simply the patient should have the desire to get well.”
“This alliance seems to submit a serious alternative to the policy pursued by the authorities, as in the declaration they signed rather interesting approaches were found regarding state model change, foreign policy and other issues.”
Anthony Gardner, who is departing as ambassador to the EU, said that senior figures in the president-elect’s transition team had been asking EU officials which countries will follow Britain in voting to leave the bloc.
However, the newly-elected US president hinted that the sanctions could be lifted in the future by saying: “If you get along and if Russia is really helping us, why would anybody have sanctions if somebody’s doing some really great things?”
In his speech Garo Paylan said during 1913-1923 the Armenians, Assyrians, Greeks and Jews registered in the country, were “exiled from these lands or subjected to tortures as a result of large massacres and genocide.”
“The Armenian side should demand installation of investigative mechanisms on the contact line and on the border, which will allow the Minsk Group to work more productively. Armenia may work a bit “aggressively” to that end,” he said.
