The European Commission has fined Facebook €110 million for providing incorrect or misleading information during the Commission’s 2014 investigation under the EU Merger Regulation of Facebook’s acquisition of WhatsApp.
The extradition of Valery Permyakov by Armenia to Russia took place on May 18, 2017 in the sidelines of the Moscow Convention of 1998 “On the Transfer of the Sentenced Persons for the Further Service of the Sentence” for ensuring the implementation of August 23, 2016 verdict of Shirak Province First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction, the press service of the Justice Ministry of Armenia informed.

The Cabinet dismissed Rafik Grigoryan from the post of governor of Gegharkunik province. Grigoryan has been elected to Parliament through the ruling party’s regional list. He was the governor of Armenia’s Gegharkunik province since June of 2012.
Voting for the Speaker at the National Assembly is over. Gagik Melikyan, chairman of the counting committee, said there are no null votes, 88 MPs voted for Ara Babloyan, and 12 against, and in favor of Edmon Marukyan nominated by “Yelk” bloc 12 MPs voted for, and 88 against.
“Different people speak by different anticipations, regarding what is discussed, but as long as there is no a published version, making anticipations would probably be the most improper policy,” he said.

President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on May 18 signed a decree on accepting the Government’s resignation, the President’s Office told. According to the President’s decree the members of the government will continue fulfilling their duties until the formation of a new government. The decree enters into force from the moment of signing.
