In his turn Hakob Jambazyan thanked for the warm reception and said their regular visit to Artsakh is again with charity mission and the entire Armenian community of Canada stands together with Artsakh with all its capacities. “Living away from the homeland we are always interested in the problems existing here, and our desire is to see them solved as soon as possible. This time we have brought with us medicine and necessary items for the Defense Army”, he said.
Ashotyan also commented on the attempts of certain Azerbaijani speakers to turn the platform of conference on women health and social issues into an anti-Armenian propaganda, adding that the Armenian delegation arrived in Baku to discuss the main topics of the conference, rather than the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
“Armenia is preparing to sign a new agreement with the European Union. In addition, we’ve arrived here to not allow propaganda and anti-Armenian rhetoric during an event in which European lawmakers are also participating. Unfortunately, such rhetoric was allowed in certain speeches. However, it must be taken into consideration that we didn’t come here to discuss the Nagorno Karabakh conflict”, he said.
In their turn the Congress delegation members presented the results of their visit to Artsakh and expressed readiness to continue making efforts aimed at developing the Armenian-American inter-state ties and peacefully and fairly settling the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
This is what Azerbaijan has been doing for many years. As the President noted in his speech at the UN General Assembly two days ago – the important thing is the issue of Artsakh’s status. If the status issue gets a solution, then all remaining issues will be solved justly and reasonably, since all remaining issues are derivatives. I would also like to repeat what we’ve said numerous times, the solution of all these issued is only possible with the participation of Nagorno Karabakh.
To the question which territories might be the talks about, Artsakh’s FM mentioned that the territories that are inseparable part of Artsakh are part of Artsakh’s security system. “Any change that can jeopardize Artsakh’s security is inadmissible. Our pivotal goal is to ensure the security of the people of Artsakh and saying Artsakh we understand the entire territory of Artsakh”, Mirzoyan said.
To the question if the army will oppose the surrender of territories, Movses Hakobyan answered that the army will do whatever the political leadership decides. “Moreover, we need new and better territories that will ensure the security of Artsakh”, Hakobyan said.
It is obvious for everyone that the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement is stalling because of Azerbaijan, Armenia’s deputy foreign minister Shavarsh Kocharyan said on the sidelines of the closing session of the Armenia-Diaspora forum.
He stated that the Armenian authorities understand very well what challenges the country faces. “We first of all act from our interests and goals by using diplomatic means and tricks”, he said.
Over the years, Armenia has become a fully-fledged and responsible member of the international community. There had been numerous challenges in before of us, and we withstood them with dignity. The most important and intricate one was the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
