The president highlighted such meetings from political and practical viewpoints, qualifying them among key components of constructive internal political dialogue.
Ambassador of France to Armenia H.E. Jean-Francois Charpentier says any kind of dialogue is acceptable which is directed towards favorable solution of the discussed issue.
From the Artsakh side, the monitoring mission was accompanied by representatives of the ministry of foreign affairs and ministry of defense.
According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute’s (SIPRI) 2016 Report, in 2012-2016 Azerbaijan and Armenia purchased a large number of arms from the Russian Federation, though Armenia purchased 20 times less. Azerbaijan’s main supplier is Russia which supplies 69% of the arms acquired by Azerbaijan.
Issues related to the course of programs on improving social and living conditions of the Talish residents were discussed during the meeting.
Commenting on Aliyev’s statement that Armenians are destroying Islamic monuments, Sharmazanov reminded that the Blue Mosque is operating in downtown Yerevan, which is a symbol of Yerevan.
The authorities of the Republic of Artsakh have expressed their readiness to assist in conducting the monitoring and to ensure the security of the OSCE Mission members.
Slava Asryan, acting minister of education, science and sports of Artsakh, as well as the director of the country’s scientific center Stepan Dadayan and other officials participated in the meeting.
The president thanked American-Armenian philanthropist Gerard Trpanjyan and the Hayastan All Armenian Fund for realizing the project.
During the abovementioned period, Azerbaijani forces violated the ceasefire using mostly various caliber firearms, firing nearly 2500 rounds at Artsakhi positions.
